The owner of the house passed away in a bedroom. The owner had hoarding issues and the house was full of garbage mixed with important documents such as money certificates, passports, safe deposit box keys, etc. so care had to be taken when sorting through the hoard. Five 30 cubic yard bins were filled from this three bedroom bungalow with a separate one car garage. No updates had been completed on the house since it was built in the early 1960’s. The brother of the deceased had us address the post mortem contamination. We were then asked to dispose of the hoard and update the two bathrooms and kitchen. We repaired the hardwood floors and sanded and refinished them to a like new condition. Fresh paint throughout the house and the exterior of the garage made a huge difference. Some yard work brought the neglected exterior under control. We installed a new gas furnace to replace the old, inefficient electric forced air furnace and had the duct-work cleaned. We maintained the exterior until the property sold in 60 days.
